Bio

Steven Dean

Steven Dean is a singer songwriter from Ogden Utah. His songs reflect his passion for the history, people, and natural landscapes of his home state. While his baritone vocal stylings provoke comparisons to classic country artists, his influences span multiple genres and generations of American roots music.

Steven came to songwriting in his early fifties after a decade long hiatus from playing guitar due to a bout with psoriatic arthritis. Effective treatment eventually allowed him to return to playing guitar and he made a decision to follow a life long dream of writing songs. He immersed himself in learning music theory and started attending workshops and music camps, studying under accomplished musicians to improve his singing, guitar playing, stage performance, and song writing. He started booking live solo gigs at local restaurants, bars, and charity events and gained a comfort and love for performing his original songs as well as covers on stage. He played shows steadily from 2016 until 2020 when the pandemic shut down all live performances. He also was scheduled to record his first album in April of 2020 but had to postpone due to the pandemic....

Steven is continuing to hone his craft and looking forward to getting out and playing live shows now that things are opening up again. He is currently working with a studio to schedule recording his debut album in September. He is also collaborating with other musicians and putting a band together to bring an extra energy to his songs. He also has recently formed a duo with Steve Stewart, an amazing mandolin player and they are accepting booking opportunities.
